This year, DADCAMP in Southern Indiana served an incredible 357 dads and their kids across two locations, creating unforgettable memories and life-changing moments. One highlight of the season was a deeply meaningful baptism I was able to experience at Flat Rock YMCA Camp, where a dad and his daughter celebrated an important step of faith together. Hearing the cheers and celebrations of other dads and kids who were witnessing this event gave me a small glimpse of the joy we will someday experience with our Heavenly Father. Moments like this embodied the joy and transformation that DADCAMP seeks to bring to dads across the United States and beyond. With the theme being “Bad Dads of the Bible” this year, many fathers reflected on their own "bad dad" moments and committed to leaving them behind. God moved powerfully, continuing to turn the hearts of fathers toward their children and the hearts of children toward their fathers. None of this would have been possible without the amazing volunteers who dedicated their time and talents to make each weekend impactful. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who contributed to making this DADCAMP season a special experience in Southern Indiana!

Montana Update

2024 has been our smoothest Montana DADCAMP season to date. The weather couldn’t have been better, and our DADCAMP team operated like a well- oiled machine. The dads and kids who attended this year were fully engaged, making every weekend feel energizing and productive. A few unique elements stood out: - Wildlife: We saw an uptick in mountain lions and bears around camp, adding a bit of wilderness excitement (and a few good stories) to the season. Fortunately, everyone stayed safe. - The Cold Plunge: This year, we introduced a new point-earning twist—an early morning plunge into a 43° mountain creek. It tested everyone’s courage and resilience, quickly becoming a highlight for those brave enough to take the plunge. - Gorilla Wars: The “Gorilla Wars” were as epic as ever. Thanks to DK’s training, we now have an entire platoon of Montana Gorilla War leaders who know how to take the intensity level to an “11 out of 10.” Dads Stepping Up: Perhaps most inspiring was the dads’ commitment to making each “blessing time” meaningful. They truly poured themselves into these moments, creating an environment where heartfelt connections and affirmations could take place with their kids. Spiritual Growth: Above all, the Lord is clearly at work. We’ve seen dads taking significant next steps in their faith journey—steps that are shaping them into stronger, more intentional fathers. The combination of teaching, worship, connection and intentional investment in our kids’ lives made 2024 a standout year for DADCAMP.
