In his sermon, "Salt & Light," Senior Pastor Andy George explains what Jesus meant by compelling His followers to be salt and light. Salt, especially in Jesus's time, was used as a preservative to keep food from rotting. In a similar vein, believers are called to act in a way that preserves morality and integrity and keeps humanity from decaying into evil. Likewise, we are also called to act as a light that illuminates the darkness, exposes sin, and offers truth, hope and direction.
