This week we take a look at Jacob and Easu and their contentious relationship. Jacob, deceived his brother out of his birthright using Esau's hunger as a tool. Esau, who placed little value on his birthright, gave no consideration to the consequences of the bargain and willingly agreed. For this reason, it is said that Esau despised his birthright. We will look at how we make decisions. Good decision making is intentional and bad decision making is natural.

This week we take a look at Jacob as he confronts God in the wilderness. Jacob was full of fear and desperation. But he ended the night of struggle with God’s blessing and a renewed faith. All of our struggling with God in faith leads to peace know God has a greater plan for us than we do for ourselves.

This week we will look at Abraham and God's covenant with him. Thirteen years after the birth of Ishmael the son of Abram, God appears to Abram. The Lord commands that he walk before God perfectly. God promises Abram he’d become a father of nations and changes his name to Abraham. In addition to this, kings and great men will come out of him. God established His covenant with Abraham and with his seed after him and it is an everlasting covenant.

This week kicks off our new series! The series is titled "Ten" because the author of Genesis divided the book into ten "chapters" that were all designated by the phrase, "these are the generations of..."
As we begin walking through Genesis in the first week of this series, we will look at The Fall that took place in the Garden of Eden. Pastor Andy will help us understand the mistakes that occurred at the beginning of humanity and how we can live differently.
