In John’s gospel, he begins quickly by revealing who Jesus is and announcing His ministry to the world. He repeats the words of John the Baptist by saying, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” This marks Jesus’ public ministry! But there comes a time about half way through his gospel that John helps us see a turning point where

Jesus starts to focus on what’s next! Jesus begins to focus on what has always been before Him and the task at hand. Jesus begins to prepare for the cross. In this series we will examine this turning point in Jesus’ ministry. We will see how Jesus starts to focus more on His friends and His disciples in preparing Him for that day when He will ultimately go to the cross. We will take a look at the anguish that comes with facing the reality of the cross. Jesus would eventually be sentenced to die, but not before once again sharing the good news that He is the light in a dark world.
