The Testimony of John the Baptist | Message

Session 4 | Message

November 13, 2022 • Michael Buffaloe • John 1:19–28

How well do you know Jesus? In Scripture, there is no one better at helping us answer this question than the apostle John. And that’s a good thing, because there is nothing more important than knowing Jesus. C. S. Lewis once said of Jesus,“Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon, or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God” John’s aim was to examine the evidence of Jesus’ life, teaching, death, and resurrection. His reason for writing is not to simply inspire you with Jesus’ miracles or impress you with His teaching. Instead, John wants us to see Jesus, the Son of God, who invites us to believe in Him as Savior, Lord and God.
John said, “But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20:31) Our intentions in taking the time to walk through every single verse of the gospel of John is that we may know Jesus and believe in our hearts everything about Him. This will take time, but the rewards will be many!
