Many of us would say that we are not envious or jealous, however, the lack of prayers in our lives may reveal that we do not believe God will do it for us so we resign ourselves not to ask. However, God perfects us by afflicting us and allow us to suffer and during those times in which we suffer prayers are to be offered up.

It is important to recognize that while we wait on God we do not give up hope and knowledge of knowing God will and can come through. We take a look back on Exodus 16 and see that the children of Israel forgot how God moved in the past and showed their impatience. We can also become impatient but is important to not complain while God is moving on His timing and not our own timing.
