Though the story of Ananias and Sapphira can seem depressing, their death is not the end of the story. Their sin was the first to enter the Church and God revealed Himself as Holy, as well as showed us the danger of sin. However, their sin developed a divine respect for the Church and led many to faith. As far as Ananias and Sapphira, as believers they were taken home to be with Jesus for eternity. God’s grace and mercy continues to be seen throughout His Word.

In the story of the Apostle Peter and Cornileus, God fulfills a promise. He not only provided salvation through Jesus for the Jews, but for the entire world. This moment reveals God’s boundless love for us to know Him as our Father and to be in relationship forever.

As we begin a new year, we see a story of a new man. Saul’s conversion from persecuting Christians to becoming a Christian is certainly gripping. But, even if your story of redemption doesn’t seem appealing it is still a miracle. It shows us the work that God does in ALL who turn from darkness into marvelous light.
