Leaving Christianity for new truth?

August 17, 2019 • Frank Turek

· Are people leaving Christianity for a “new" truth? · Does science keep piercing the truth of every religion? · Is the Bible full of contradictions? · Does God send 4 billion people to hell? · Is it really true that no one talks about these things? Join Frank and he responds to these issues raised by Marty Sampson, the Hillsong worship leader who says that his faith is now on “Incredibly shaky ground.” Frank also highlights some of the comments made about this by John Cooper, of the Christian rock band Skillet. Pray for Mr. Sampson. He says that he is familiar with the work of William Lane Craig, John Lennox, Ravi Zacharias, Michael Licona and Frank Turek. We pray he will get the answers he needs. Frank also addressed a few of the questions you’ve sent in, including: · Why did God wait so long to stop the child sacrifice of the Canaanites? · How can you follow a God who promises eternal torture? · (Does He actually promise that?) · Why did God give Adam and Eve access to the tree in the garden?

CE LIVE Show: The Creator and the Cosmos w/ Dr. Hugh Ross

January 14, 2020 • Dr. Hugh Ross

Few of us can venture outside on a clear, dark night without pausing for a silent, reflective gaze at the stars. For countless centuries, people have felt a sense of wonder about the heavens. How did our universe come into being? Has it always been here? Is our existence the result of chance or of supernatural design? Is God "out there"? If so, what is God like? Whether you are skeptical of God's existence or seeking scientific support for your faith, The Creator and the Cosmos will enable you to see how the heavens do declare the glory of God (Ps. 19:1). Astronomer Hugh Ross explains recent scientific measurements of the universe that clearly point to its purposeful origin and development. An abundance of references to published research findings allows you to explore the evidence for yourself. Make sure you have your questions ready as he will be answering YOUR questions LIVE as well!

Did Jesus Really Claim to Be God? • January 11, 2020 • Ryan Crews

Sometimes you’ll hear Muslim apologists and other skeptics of Christianity ask, “Where does Jesus say, ‘I am God, worship me’”? You won’t find Jesus using those words anywhere in the New Testament documents. Instead, we read Jesus kept calling Himself “The Son of Man.” On the face of it, that sounds more human than divine. Is that right? Did Jesus really claim to be God in words and actions other than “I am God, worship me"? And if He did claim to be God, why wasn’t He more overt about it? Why not just come out and say it plainly? Frank invites Crossexamined.org board member, and budding apologist, Ryan Crews to the show to answer those questions and more. Join them for a fascinating discussion about the self-identity of Jesus, and how to answer objections to the divinity of Jesus.

The elephant in the room isn't Trump • January 4, 2020 • Frank Turek

A couple of listeners wrote emails to express their disagreement with some of what Frank said in the show “Why Did Evangelicals Vote for Trump?” In this show Frank responds by investigating Jesus’s rebuke of the Pharisees (the politicians of Israel) in Matthew 23:23 and then by asking three questions: 1. What is the purpose of government? 2. What is your primary reason for choosing a president? 3. Who, of the available candidates, will best fulfill that purpose? As you’ll hear the elephant in the room isn’t Trump and his personality. The primary reason we choose a president has to do with a policy, not personality (although personality is still important). Frank responds to other objections from the emails, and also answers this question from a parent: How do I respond to a child who claims not to believe in God anymore?
