The Jewish authorities believed they had a compelling case against Jesus, as he hailed from the obscure village of Nazareth and was known as the son of a carpenter. Despite his humble background, Jesus boldly declared himself as the true Son of God. However, such a proclamation, if false, constituted blasphemy, a grave offense punishable by death according to Leviticus 24:16. But Jesus was not relying on His own testimony. He had credible witnesses on His side!
