Paul asks the Galatians, "Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?" Faith comes from hearing and we must trust in this simple message and not ourselves. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us." - v. 13

There is nothing to add to the message of the Gospel. The purity of the message of Christ must be protected and left as clear as the Scriptures make it. Galatians 2:4–5 [4] Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery—[5] to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you. Why is Paul so concerned about protecting the Gospel message? The Good News that Jesus died, was buried, and is now resurrected, is a message that must not be corrupted because it is the most valuable thing to us (and to Paul), the foundation of our faith.
