"It's (Not) About Me"

Dear friends, It's not always easy to make it out the door on Sunday mornings. There's hair to be brushed and socks to be matched, roads to be navigated and parking spots to be secured, not to mention the allure of a lazy brunch or lengthy crossword puzzle. Don't get me wrong -- I value my weekend rest as much as anyone, so I wonder all the more at what draws us to worship. With so many options vying for our precious Sunday morning hours, there must be something distinctive about gathering to pray, sing, share stories of faith, and be sent out in God's name. Across all four services, we'll enjoy excellent music and unique expressions of faith. In the Fellowship Hall, we'll also hear an honest story from Amber Brown about how she is responding to God's call to share her gifts in worship. It would be a particularly good weekend to invite a friend who's wondering what Sunday mornings are all about. Peace, Julia
