Living in a spiritual desert, Job keeps faith because he knows that God is with him even though he can't find him. He doubles down and keeps on the path even in difficult times.

Molly Smerko, pastoral resident of education, continues our Lenten series, Wrestling with God: Finding Faith. Molly shares Genesis 18: 10-15 with us, the story of Sarah. Sarah gets news that has her laughing at God. Molly asks, "Have you laughed at God because His promises seem so out of reach?" Through Sarah's story, we learn that God is whom God says God is, and it can exceed our wildest imaginations.

Nikki shares Matthew 15: 21-28 with us, the story of the Canaanite woman's faith. Nikki speaks to us about how in this story, we see how Jesus is evolving and changing. We see the messiness of Jesus' dual nature of being fully divine and fully human.

Serenitye Taylor, pastoral resident of congregational life and pastoral care, continues our Lenten series, Wrestling with God: Finding Faith. Serenitye shares John 20:24-28 with us. The story of Thomas doubting Jesus shows us that doubt can be a healthy response to our faith. Jesus doesn't shun Thomas for his doubt but rather invites Thomas to come closer. Thomas, who has been isolated because of his doubt goes on to build the church, expanding the mission of Christ to India.

Nikki Zimmermann, pastoral resident, mission and outreach, introduces us to Cassie Jones, Head of School at the Epiphany School. The Epiphany School is a non-profit independent day school for kids that have been diagnosed with ASD1 (autism spectrum disorder level 1) or similar communication disorders. Students are high functioning and often have above-average intelligence. The Epiphany School is delighted to partner with Covenant through combined service-learning opportunities as well as the use of the third floor during the school day.

Molly Smerko, pastoral resident of education invites us to Uptown Bible Study which takes place every Tuesday in the Welcome Center, as well as on Zoom. The bible study is a great way to recharge, refresh and join in fellowship. This year they are studying the Psalms and Molly shares a little snippet of psalm 33 that they studied last week. She loves how it shows the infinite care that God gave when creating the world and us. In reading the last line of the psalm, Molly's prayer for you is that you continue to hope in the Lord even when times are tough.
