God has left the church on earth to reveal His Son to the world. There's no assignment more important or staggering, because the church is central to the purposes of God in the world.
The gathered, assembled, congregated church is the kingdom of heaven made visible for all to see.
The need and desire to belong is a fundamentally human one. God has designed the church to be part of meeting that need.
