Christ-Centered Community

This is the church. It was created with specific dynamics to represent God to the unbelievers. Also it is for the believer to grow in their faith and the whole to mature as the body of Christ. Church and these dynamics are not optional.

Prayer

We are talking about the spiritual habit of Prayer. We talk about how we pray but more importantly why. We do it to connect with God through our personal need for intervention, the needs for intercession in the needs of others. Most importantly we pray to align our hearts with God's heart and his will.

Reading Scripture

This is the spiritual habit of reading our bibles. We talk about reading God's word by asking the questions Why? How? and What for? We talk about what the bible is and why we can trust it. When we know those thing we can learn that by reading God's word, as believers, we can understand and avoid sin, live righteously, and be given life through God's word. We get to read his word its not an obligation that we have to.

Fasting

December 31, 2023 • Joe Shepherd • 1 Corinthians 9:24–27

Fasting is not intentionally engaging in suffering to receive a blessing. We fast in order to deny the flesh something that it need, desires, or is distracted by, in order to fulfill the greater need that is spiritual. When we can know that our greatest need is met in our relationship with God, we should be willing to give up everything to form a deeper connection to God, no matter the cost. Fasting is about connection to the God that we desire an ever deeper relationship with
