Jesus wasn't interested in gaining a large following for the sake of His ego. He wasn't after superficial fans who would be there today and gone tomorrow. He challenged people to count the cost of following Him. Following Jesus won't be easy, shouldn't be put off, and can't be subordinate to anything else.
