In spite of how work can be a source of hardship, work itself was given by God to man as a blessing. Adam and his helper, Eve, were given the responsibility to tend to the garden and to cultivate the land so that it might bear fruit. Our perspective on work should be shaped by this fundamental understanding that it is a gift of God that predates the fall and there is much nobility and purpose in our work.
