How does Cornerstone’s history of missional involvement reflect God’s faithfulness? How does it both humble and empower our hearts to consider both the God and the people who have gone before us?

Did any of the five great commission texts stand out or speak to you in a new or unique way? What is one way Jesus’ great commission instructions might shape you and your life moving forward? What are some of the connections between our local mission and God’s global mission? In what ways in your life and interactions can love for the lost and love for the marginalized overlap? What is the shared motivation between these two aspects of mission? Do you tend to value or participate in either the great commission or the great commandment more than the other? After listening, how would you describe the balance of these two directives? Practical: Spend some time meditating on Jesus’ words: “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

What is the central purpose, theme, or heart of God's mission and where does it appear in the Bible? Did any verses that Sara and Spencer shared stick out to you as new, strange, or beautiful? Why does God use people for his mission? Who does he use and what roles might they have? How have you participated in the mission of God in your life, and how have you neglected it? Does the mission of God give you purpose in your life on earth? Is there anything empowering or joyful to you about the promise and purpose of God’s mission being your inheritance? How did you feel when Spencer said that participating in God’s mission is the family business? What was your first gut reaction and why? Practical: Look for the theme of God’s mission as you read the Bible or do devotionals this month.
