Luke tells us that a very large group of angels announced the birth of Jesus to poor shepherds. What might the significance of this be? 3. The angels brought the shepherds good news, not good advice. Why is this distinction so important? 4. What other “lords” distract your heart with the offer of peace?

What does this teach us about the identity of Jesus? 3. Read Isaiah 7:14. Consider that those words were written approximately 750 years before the birth of Jesus. How does this affect the way you look at the Bible? The birth of Jesus? 4. Mary responds to the angels words with bold confidence. How can the Christmas story grow your confidence in the power of God?
