Ephesians 2:8-10

April 22, 2018 • Pastor Jon Needham

Discipleship Questions 1. Verse 10 tells us that we are God’s workmanship, or his poem. What does that mean to you? How have you struggled to believe this truth of Scripture in your life? 2. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of good works God has prepared for you? 3. How has God used the “ordinary” life of others to influence you? 4. In the sermon, Pastor Jon talked about living as sent servants in our families, our work places, and our communities. Take a few moments to think about how you can grow as a sent servant in those areas.

Discipleship Questions 1.  Read Matthew 5:43-48.  Jesus identifies two loves or two ways of loving.  How are these two loves different?  With which love would you prefer to be loved? 2.  The Bible teaches us that Jesus is our propitiation.  What images of propitiation can you identify in the Old Testament?  Why do we need propitiation? 3.  How does the cross of Christ transform our understanding of God’s love?  How does it affect the way we hear the command to love others? 4.  How has God used the love of others to grow your understanding of God’s love?  In what ways can you grow in your love for others?
