One thing Paul highlights in this letter is the important truth that we are dependent on Christ’s life, death, and resurrection for the justified state we experience before God. There is no standard we can keep or law we can follow that will get us to God without Jesus. Jesus sets us free from this vain pursuit so we can live a Spirit-empowered life.
