Let's Go Fishing!

As followers of Jesus, we must keep the main thing the main thing. When it comes to most churches today, rather than being fishers of men, they are just keepers of the aquarium. Yet when Jesus asked His first disciples to follow Him, He made His agenda for them clear up front. He said to four ordinary fishermen: “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”

In Luke 15, we have one parable with three parts to it, including the story of the Prodigal Son. This story provides a picture of the heart of God the Father who is more than willing to welcome and receive us when we have turned our back on Him. No matter how far away you feel, God is ready to say, "Welcome home."
Seeing Your World Through the Eyes of Jesus

There was something about Jesus that attracted sinners to Him. Not because He catered to their lifestyle or compromised His message. It was because people could see that Jesus had something they knew they needed and that they desperately wanted. How do people outside the church view you? Do you exclude people who don't believe or behave like you do? Or are people drawn to you because you live your life in such a way that draws people in?
