Christmas has a way of magnifying things. The Christmas season tends to magnify the good and makes things even better. At the same time, Christmas can also magnify the difficult times and make them seem even worse. What might be a little painful during the year seems to be incredibly painful during Christmas. For many, there will be significant hurts and wounds that emerge this time of year – the Ghosts of Christmas Past.
Season of Hope

“There are no hopeless situations; there are only people who have grown hopeless about them.” – Clare Boothe Luce Hope might be the most powerful motivator the world has ever seen. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” The evidence of God working in the past provides the assurance of hope for the future. And the evidence of Christmas gives us the ultimate hope.
I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas

The most important part of Christmas is the first six letters in that word. It’s because of the incarnation that Christ made it possible for us both to receive forgiveness and to GIVE the gift of forgiveness. Think about it this way: If there were no _______, there would be no ___________________. Christmas exists because sin exists in the world. For many people, Christmas is a time of relational stress. You have the breakup of the family, the pressure (and guilt) of not being able to be with all of your family members, as well as difficult family members with whom you have unresolved issues. Maybe you’re dreaming of a “white Christmas” where everything is right with the world, but the reality is you can make everything right within you, which will in turn change how you relate and respond to those around you.
