The Relational Essential

February 3, 2019

On the list of the five essentials of life, the Relational Essential is second only to the Spiritual. Relationships are the most important, but also the most problematic, area of our lives. When our relationships are good, life is wonderful; when they are bad, life is miserable. READ James 3:13-18. James gives some practical advice about how to have wisdom in your relationships. Vs. 18 is the key verse, “And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness.” James says, every day in every relationship, you’re planting seeds. You will inevitably reap in your relationships based upon the seeds you have sown. How do you get along with other people? That shows how wise you really are. In vs. 17, James lists the characteristics of wise people. “But wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure, then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
