The Holy Spirit Sanctifies

The ultimate purpose of the Holy Spirit’s operation in the life of a Christian is to promote personal transformation — transformation that makes our character increasingly like the character of Jesus Christ. The Bible calls this spiritual transformation “sanctification.” Spiritual growth (or sanctification) brought about by the work of the Holy Spirit results in concrete, practical change in us — how we think, feel, and act. The work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian results in spiritual growth.
