The Church has a Message

The church are ambassadors of the Gospel, a message of both power and purpose to be proclaimed. The Gospel changes us individually, but is also entrusted to the people of God to proclaim through words and deeds. We have been entrusted with the treasure of the Gospel, the Good News, for a purpose. Jesus helped clarify how we accomplish the purpose of the Gospel by giving us His mission: “Go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19).

As the arts, politics, family, all areas of culture, are being filled with Jesus' disciples bringing about His Gospel restoration, the earth is being filled with His glory.

That's the point of the restoration of all things – that God would be glorified. The Gospel is not just about my individual happiness or God’s plan for my life; it is about God’s plan for the world.

The Tools of War

The Bible is full of this kind of language: You are in the midst of a battle and you are a soldier. There are battles of life, there is suffering, and there is agony, and it can be so very painful. The apostle Paul wants us to know that we are in a spiritual battle. Paul gives us tools called the armour of God. Each of the pieces of spiritual armour is simply a way of applying the Gospel to a different part of our life. As a new school year begins, let's be reminded of the battle and the armour given to us to fight the battle.

Advance the Gospel

In today's message, we look at the third of these three pillars: Advance the Gospel. We hear about how the Gospel is a call to go – for the everyday Christ-follower to live on mission in the everyday opportunities that we find ourselves in.

Live the Gospel

Through Jesus, we have been adopted into God's family, and we are called to live out the Gospel in community with one another.
