This week, we started a new series about unhealthy and often unaddressed patterns of thinking. First up, is cynicism–the tendency to see the worst in people. When you’re left to write your own story, what kind of story do you tend to write?

Comparison

According to Brené Brown, "Comparison is the crush of conformity from one side and competition from the other -- it's trying to simultaneously fit in and stand out. Comparison says 'Be like everyone else, but better.'" Theodore Roosevelt once called it "the thief of joy". Is it possible to simply stop comparing, or is there a deeper issue that needs to be addressed?
