Three Steps to Delivering the Good news to Others 1. Be a witness. Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Witnessing Tips: 1. The Holy Spirits Job is to convert people 2. Good deeds Matters. 3. Write out your God story. a. What my life was like before Jesus. b. How I came to make him my Lord and savior. c. What my life has been like sense. 4. Practice the habit of prayer. 2. Be a witness at work 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. Mattew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth.” 3.Be a Member of a witness community. John 10:16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also

Mark 9:33-35: 33After they arrived at Capernaum, Jesus and his disciples settled in the house where they would be staying. Jesus asked them, “What were you discussing out on the road?” 34 But they didn’t answer, because they had been arguing about which of them was the greatest. 35He sat down and called the twelve disciples over to him. Then he said, “Anyone who wants to be the first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.” Matthew 20:25-28 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 23:11-12 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Become: You were created to become like Christ! Pastor Steve Larson 4.24.22 Romans 8:29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son Four Tools that God uses to help us become like Christ: 1.God uses trespasses to teach us to forgive Who do you need to forgive? 2. God uses our temptations to teach us to obey Him Temptations are situations designed by Satan and they’re intended to harm us. Matthew 4:1. “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil”. 3. God uses his word to transform us. Mark 4:26-28 Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. 28 The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. 4. God uses trouble to teach us to trust Him. “They came to a garden called Gethsemane and Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Sit here while I pray’.” (Mark 14:32). “The worry in My heart is so great that it almost crushes Me.” (Mark 14:34). “Father,” He said, “everything is possible for You. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet, I want Your will, not Mine!” (Mark 14:36). A Prayer to Become like Jesus: Dear God, I want to grow in character. I want to become who You made me to be. Thank you for the model of Jesus. I want to become more like Jesus in the way I think and the way I feel and the way I act. And if that means taking me through troubled times, then I say, “I want Your will for my life”. And if that means going through a wilderness of temptation, please give me the strength to make the right choices. And if that means I must endure the hurts of other people, then teach me to forgive as much as You have forgiven me.
