Dr. Sandra Glahn (rhymes with “dawn”) will be our guest speaker for this one-day "retreat" event! Sandra is a professor of Media Arts and Worship at Dallas Theological Seminary. She is the author, co-author or general editor of more than twenty-five books, including the 12 titles in the Coffee Cup Bible Study series. Dr. Glahn is the wife of one husband, mother of one daughter, owner of two cats, and lover of dark chocolate. There will be workshops in the morning from 11:00-12:00 and in the afternoon from 1:00-2:00. Morning Workshops: Sandra Glahn will be dealing with questions on “Hot Topics” for women today. Bring your questions on topics such as how to deal with infertility or how we help sisters who are walking that road, how does a Christian woman steward social media, sexual issues facing women, what the Bible teaches about the roles of women in a culture that increasingly says there is no distinction between men and women. These are the types of topics that Sandra has thought deeply about and would love to address. There will be an opportunity before this workshop to submit your questions anonymously as well. Come to Rest - Rachel Wissink Time, space, and various resources will be provided for you to stop, rest, delight in and worship God through scripture, prayer, art and reflection. Afternoon Workshops: To Cook or Not to Cook - Linda Brown & Kay Emery In a rut, nothing sounds good? Fresh ideas and recipes for one or two (or more). Interior Design - Amelia Gottsch Receive ideas from an interior designer to make your house a home.
