One of the most common and dangerous misconceptions about God the Father is that God is this angry, violent and controlling father in heaven ready to punish anyone that does not meet his expectations. Thomas Paine once said, "The belief of a cruel God makes a cruel man." What would it look like for us to dismantle this notion of God, and reimagine a different kind of God that would result in a more loving, just and liberating faith?
