A procession of palm branches as a symbol of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and reading of the Gospel accounts. Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, where crowds welcomed Him by waving palm branches and laying them on His path. It's also significant because it fulfills a prophecy in the Old Testament and sets the stage for Jesus' final week of ministry leading up to His crucifixion and resurrection. Palm Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday before Easter and marks the beginning of Holy Week.
