4 Ways The Holy Spirit Empowers Us | The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit

April 30, 2023 • Pastor Chris Karuhije • Zechariah 4:6, Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 5:16, Romans 15:13, Philemon 6

As we embark on our journey of faith, there are many obstacles that will try to hinder us from progressing into what God has for us. At first it can be daunting when we look at the giants and challenges in our way, but God has not left us alone. Just like was saw last week, He has given us the Holy Spirit who guarantees success when we follow His guidance.

But the Holy Spirit does not just guide us on our journey, He also empowers us for our journey. Zechariah 4:6 says, “You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD All-Powerful.” Success comes when we exchange our limited strength for His unlimited power.

Here are four ways that the Holy Spirit empowers us for our journey.

The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is not just a distant concept or an abstract idea, nor a passive observer in our lives. He is the living and active presence of God within us who is renewing and shaping our view of the world from God’s perspective.

The True Measure of a Father's Success | The Holy Spirit

June 18, 2023 • Pastor Dave Koop • 1 Timothy 5:8, Deuteronomy 6:6–7, Ephesians 6:4, Romans 12:2, Psalm 82:3–4

In a world that is redefining the family, fathers need a clear measurement of what a father is and what God expects of them to succeed. Measurement is like a compass that guides us through the flood of information coming at us today, helping us to navigate our way. For a father to “measure up” he must pattern himself not after what the world is saying but after what God has spoken. Fathers are on a journey, and they need the guiding principles of the Bible to not only tell them who they are, but how they can lead their family safely through the challenging times we live in. Whether it’s checking the length of a piece of wood, the temperature of an oven, or the distance to the moon, measurements provide us with tangible data that allows us to make wise decisions.

How to Operate In The Gifts of the Spirit | The Holy Spirit

June 11, 2023 • Pastor Dave Koop • 1 Corinthians 12:1, 1 Corinthians 14:1, Romans 15:19, 1 Corinthians 13:1–2, 1 Corinthians 14:3

The Greek word for “spiritual gift” is charisma. It means, “something freely given.” The plural Greek word, charismata, is found in 1 Corinthians 12:4, 9, 28, 30-31. The spiritual gifts or charismata are operations of supernatural abilities bestowed on individuals, to flow through them at the will of the Holy Spirit revealing the love and power of God. Now about the spiritual gifts (the special endowments of supernatural energy), brethren, I do not want you to be misinformed. – 1 Corinthians 12:1 AMP
