Matthew 28:18 :: And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 3. Is teaching what grace looks like! Matthew 28:20a :: teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. 4. Will always have support! Matthew 28:20b :: And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

TRUTH: The resurrection will lead some to worship, and others to refuse to believe 1. Believers in Jesus use the resurrection to worship! Matthew 28:9b :: And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. 2. Doubters will use the resurrection as an excuse to refuse to believe! Matthew 28:13 :: and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 3. Devotion to Jesus is rewarded! Matthew 28:9a :: And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!”

TRUTH: Jesus resurrection defeated my greatest enemy! 1. Jesus resurrection deserves my service! Mark 16:1 :: When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2. Jesus resurrection moves my greatest obstacles! Mark 16:4 :: And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. 3. Jesus resurrection proves He is who He said! Mark 16:6 :: And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 4. Jesus resurrection propels me to go out! Mark 16:8 :: And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

Was complete Mark 15:46 :: And Joseph bought a linen shroud, and taking him down, wrapped him in the linen shroud and laid him in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. And he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.

Pilate was amazed Mark 15:5 :: But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate was amazed. 2. The chief priests were envious Mark 15:10 :: For he perceived that it was out of envy that the chief priests had delivered him up. 3. The crowd was stirred up Mark 15:11 :: But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Barabbas instead. 4. The soldiers were mocking Mark 15:20 :: And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him. And they led him out to crucify him.

TRUTH: A faithful witness for Jesus speaks truthfully about their relationship 1. A false witness will lie no matter the facts Mark 14:59 :: Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 2. A fearful witness will deny no matter the friendship Mark 14:71 :: But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.” 3. A faithful witness will speak truth no matter the fallout Mark 14:62 :: And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

Unconditional Mark 14:18 :: And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” 3. Unending Mark 14:25 :: Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

TRUTH: Extravagant love sacrifices self A contrast of extravagance… 1. Extravagant love sacrifices self publicly Mark 14:1-3 :: It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him, for they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar from the people.” And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head. 2. Selfishness sacrifices others privately Mark 14:10-11 :: Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him. 3. Extravagant love will be criticized by people Mark 14:4-5 :: There were some who said to themselves indignantly, “Why was the ointment wasted like that? For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they scolded her. 4. Selfishness will be called out by Jesus Mark 14:18 :: And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” 5. Extravagant love will be remembered Mark 14:6-9 :: But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me. She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial. And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.” 6. Persecution is inevitable :: Be faithful Mark 13:13 :: And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 3. Trouble is double :: Be hopeful Mark 13:19 :: For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.

Mark 12:41a :: And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. 2. Not determined by amount Mark 12:43 :: And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. 3. Preceded by faith Mark 12:44 :: For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

TRUTH: Great understanding brings a great responsibility to be authentic An authentic follower… 1. Knows Jesus, the Christ, is David’s son, and therefore man! Mark 12:35 :: And as Jesus taught in the temple, he said, “How can the scribes say that the Christ is the son of David? 2. Knows Jesus, the Christ, is David’s Lord, and therefore God! Mark 12:36-37 :: David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared, “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.”’ David himself calls him Lord. So how is he his son?” And the great throng heard him gladly. 3. Won’t put on a show Mark 12:38-39 :: And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces and have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, 4. Won’t take advantage of others Mark 12:40 :: who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.” 5. TRUTH: Keeping what’s most important will silence critics! Love God! 1. Because of who He is! Mark 12:29 :: Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 2. With all we are! Mark 12:30 :: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Love people! 1. Create value! Mark 12:31 :: The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 2. Sacrificially! Mark 12:32-33 :: And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 3. As if life depended on it! Mark 12:34 :: And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.

And they asked him a question, saying, 2. Knowledge of Scripture shows that there is no end to life for those in God Mark 12:24 :: Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? Mark 12:26 :: And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 3. The power of God makes eternal life more than what you have in this world Mark 12:24 :: Jesus said to them, “Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God? Mark 12:25 :: For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
