TRUTH: A relational God creates people who are called to be… relational!

1. God is relational
John 3:16 :: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

2. We were created in His image, and are therefore relational beings as well
Genesis 1:27 :: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

3. We are called to be in relationship with God and one another
Mark 12:30-31 :: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

4. There is a difference between how we treat Christians and non-Christians
1 Corinthians 5:11-12 :: But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?

5. We were created to glorify God, therefore our relationships should do the same
Isaiah 43:7 :: everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
