TRUTH: Debt enslaves us to money

1. Stop taking on debt
Proverbs 22:7 :: The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.

2. Save emergency fund
Proverbs 21:20 :: The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.

3. Tithe to God
Malachi 3:10-11 :: Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty.

4. Payoff debts
Psalm 37:21 :: The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously

5. Create a budget
Proverbs 21:5 :: The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

6. Eat beans and rice
Proverbs 23:21 :: for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.

7. Work a part-time job
Proverbs 10:4-5 :: Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

8. Pray for creativity and wisdom
James 4:2b :: You do not have because you do not ask God.
