It’s Trunk-or-Treat time!
In order for this year’s event to be a success, we need folks to register and plan to park their cars along the walk and hand out candy from their trunks. The event will be held from 6:30–8:30pm on Sunday, October 26th. Below are a few important details:
Car Theme and Costume
There are lots of creative, family-friendly ways you can decorate your vehicle. We recommend choosing a theme for both your vehicle and costume—the less your car looks like a car, the better!
Because so many of our trunk-or-treaters will be preschoolers and toddlers (and since we are a church), we ask that participants not use scary items or images such as blood, skeletons, bats, witches, monsters, gore, occult symbols, etc.
Suggested themes include:
Disney, Pixar, or other kid-friendly movies
Circus
Western
Space or Sci-fi
Race car
Decades: 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, etc.
Bible stories
Sports
Camping
Zoo or Barnyard
Candy
Please be prepared to hand out individually wrapped candy to approximately 1,500 kids. We recommend giving one piece of candy per child. Additional candy will be available if you run out during the event.
Teal Pumpkin Car
Some kids have food restrictions and allergies. During our Trunk-or-Treat, we will have teal pumpkin signs available for cars distributing non-food treats. The teal pumpkin will alert families to safe options for their children.
(Oriental Trading is a great place to purchase items in bulk.)
Suggested non-food treats include:
Glow sticks
Bracelets or necklaces
Pencils, pens, crayons, or markers
Bubbles
Halloween erasers or pencil toppers
Mini Slinkies, whistles, kazoos, or noisemakers
Bouncy balls
Mini notepads
Bookmarks
Stickers
Final Notes
Expect a fun-filled night! More information will be emailed to you soon.
