Difficulty teaches us something about ourselves. An opportunity to learn about ourselves.

Suffering helps us answer the question as to why we serve God.

Question: Do we serve God for who He is or for what He does for us?

Satan's charge against God. Job's integrity. Does Job worship for nothing? He calls into question Job's integrity and God's worth to Job.

Job doesn't serve you for nothing. You are not worth much to Job God. The book of Job is a story of vindication of both God and Job.

Job is a story of God vindicating Job and God from the accusations the devil brings against both God and Job in chapters 1 and 2.

Job 38-42

Here is chapter 38 we will learn of the wisdom of God and the limitations of mans wisdom. God In chapter 40 we will learn of the power of God and the limitation of mans’s power. Ultimately in chapter 42 we learn of the love of God. Job finally gets his audience with God, the very thing he has wanted since he first began to suffer the trials he has been in. Job had accused God of unrighteousness and the justice of God in his trial due to the things Jobs friends had told Job he was being judged by God because of hypocrisy or secret sin. Job unfortunately bought into their lies and began to question the goodness of God. Job thought God was judging Job’s life… God posses 70 “you want to be God” questions for Job. If you feel like God isn’t doing a good job at running the universe and the affairs of human life you should be able to answer these questions. This is like a want to be God 101 class.
