Enjoying Christmas

"Your One Life" - New Year's Day Message

January 1, 2023 • Gary Moritz • Philippians 3:7–14

Your One Life … this is a powerful statement! A new year reminds us that yesterday is gone, and all we have is today. Think about your life as a string of moments and experiences that run back-to-back. With every heartbeat and day that passes, time is passing by that can never be regained. Our days are numbered, and each passing day becomes a distant memory. We only get one shot at life. “Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.”—Psalms 90:12 One day, we will face the end of our lives and the question, “Did my life matter?” As we think about a new year, I want us to consider legacy over longevity. Don’t think about what you are leaving behind; instead, think about who you are leaving behind. Who are you impacting? Who will thank you for your example and the donation of your life? As we kick off this new year, think about restarting, realigning, refocusing, and rethinking how you can maximize your influence for Kingdom impact.

"Rejoice at Christmas"

December 25, 2022 • Gary Moritz • Luke 2:10–14

It’s Christmastime, and the world is eagerly waiting in expectation for something amazing to happen this season. Sadly, Christmas is not “merry” for everyone, and the expectations for Christmas can lead to disappointment and sadness. For the follower of Jesus, the focus of Christmas should be on the supernatural event that happened over 2,000 years ago not on the commercialism and false hope the world offers. “21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” —Matthew 1:21-23 (KJV) You can experience true joy this Christmas regardless of what you may be facing. Jesus is the one that brings joy and healing to our lives. This Christmas collection will show you how to enjoy Christmas through the gift of Jesus Christ.
