What have you chosen to do with God’s abundant provision for you? Have you held on tightly to your time, talent, and resources as though you don’t think God will continue to provide? Or have you released them for use in His abundant kingdom? In this session, Roger and Dan talk about stepping out in faith to practice generosity and live out of the freedom of knowing God will always provide for us. Join our roundtable discussion for some real talk of the struggle to trust God and the power and goodness of God to come through for us when we need His help. God is glorified when we trust Him both to provide to us and to provide through us.
Session 4 | Deep & Wide
Session 1 | Deep & Wide
Roger is at the D Bar J Ranch with his mentor Dan Hall, and together they kick off our small group sessions with a powerful teaching on the power that money and treasure can have over us when it takes the place of God in our hearts. Jesus said not to store up treasure on earth where moth and rust can destroy and thieves can break in and steal, instead, store up treasure with God in heaven. In this session, you will also witness a small group discussion around the table with some of our members as they discuss money and generosity.
Session 2 | Deep & Wide
Why are we sometimes not as generous as we could be? The struggle to trust God is at the heart of the struggle to be generous. In session 2, Roger and Dan discuss the profound concept of the roots under a vast tree, looking at Jeremiah 17:7-8. It includes, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream.” Jeremiah has painted a vivid picture of the fruitful blessing of trusting God, which is lived out in faithfulness towards God’s command to give back to Him some of what He has given to us. Our round table group will discuss how this concept has manifested in their own lives, and the ways God is continuously helping them to overcome their own lack of trust as they learn to grasp God’s definition of abundance and generosity.
Session 3 | Deep & Wide
Having now seen that God is the most generous giver and that His nature is one of abundance, it’s time to look at the prayer life of one who is bold in faith, asking God to come through on big things. Nothing will enhance the prayer life of moving to trust God with situations that may seem impossible to us, knowing that nothing is impossible with Him. Do you need to be encouraged in this season of your life, because you have forgotten God’s ability and willingness to answer prayer? This session and the roundtable that follows will bless you as you learn from God’s Word of His amazing heart for us and how He helps us to trust Him in the most dire situations.
