January 10, 2016 • Pastor Tony Stewart

In this series, Pastor Tony shares the importance of living by faith not by our feelings. We live in a world driven by our emotions, to the point that we have every kind of Emoji you can think of to express in a text or email the type of "mood" we are experiencing at any given moment. The fact that these were even created shows just how consumed we are with our feelings, and if we don't pay attention and guard our hearts, we will be consumed by all the negative emotions that bombard us daily. Even as believers we fall into the trap of believing the lies the enemy speaks to our hearts. His greatest tactic is to cause us to take our eyes off Jesus and to drown in fear. When we are overcome by fear, we have to have a strong belief system to stand in faith that God will do what He said He would do. We have to know God's word and believe it, or our faith will be weak. But there is a faith that can overcome that which is overcoming us, we just have to believe God's Word is greater than our circumstances. If we are ruled by our emotions, it can cause the things of God to become silent in our lives. We must see with supernatural eyes not with our natural eyes, or we will have weak faith and lack joy in our lives. But if we walk by faith and not by our feelings, what used to hold us bound will become our greatest freedom. God has called us to be filled to overflowing with joy, even in our darkest moments, and we can only do that when we know who we are in Him, and we walk by faith in Him and not our feelings!
