Part 3

December 25, 2016

In this Christmas sermon series, Pastor Tony reminds us that during this gift-giving season, we must never forget that God is the ultimate gift giver. When He gave the gift of His son, He gave us everything we need.

Gifts come in all sizes and different kinds of packages, but unless we accept the gift given to us, it is useless. When Jesus came as a baby in a stable, many did not accept Him as a king, or as the son of God, because they didn't expect a baby. But those who did accept him-the shepherds and the wise men-were changed forever. They came to worship a king, and they showed us by their example not to judge by appearance, but just believe what we know to be true.

During the Christmas season, we must take time to remember that we give gifts to family and friends because God demonstrated His love for us by giving us Jesus. He is our example. Of course we even sometimes re-gift what others have given us. Re-gifting Jesus to others is the greatest act of love we can show them, and we don't even have to wait until Christmas, or any other special occasion, to do it.

So during this hectic season of giving, give out of an extravagant heart of worship and help others see the truth of the greatest gift of all - Jesus!
