Prayer and Fasting

It’s almost impossible to preach about prayer without mentioning fasting. God’s word is filled with examples of prayer that’s accompanied by fasting. After the disciples could not drive out a demon, Jesus said that some spiritual breakthroughs can only come through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). Biblical, Christ-Centered fasting is a very powerful blessing we all have access to. Sadly, too many people have misunderstood this spiritual discipline and have rejected prayer and fasting.

The Lord's Prayer

Prayer that Moves Mountains

Faith is an integral part of prayer, we have to believe that God hears our prayers and that He is able to do miracles. If we settle for a powerless religious prayer life, we deny ourselves the joy of engaging with an Almighty, All Powerful God who loves it when call out to Him!

You have not because you ask not

God is not far from us and He has made a way for us to talk to Him. We often seem to forget about the privilege we have to talk to our Heavenly Father. He knows what we need and He loves answering our prayers, we just need to ask Him. Our God is relational and prayer is a vital part of building this powerful relationship with Him.
