Truly we cannot speak of Easter without speaking about Christmas, for they go hand in hand. We celebrate the birth of Christ during Christmas, for He was sent with a purpose to Save the Lost from damnation. Although, many did not understand how that Saving would take place. During the Old Testament times God required a blood sacrifice each year from the Israelites to cover their sins. Many would sacrifice an unblemished lamb to God to absolve them of their sins for that year. Jesus was to be That sacrifice in the New Testament to once and for all cover all the sins of those who accepted Him as their Lord and Savior, and placed their lives and trust in Him. For He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world! It is on Easter we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, for Christianity is the only religion which worships a risen savior, who sacrificed Himself to bring Salvation to the World.
