Understanding God's Grace and Favor

Did you know the Washington Monument is the tallest building in our Nation's Capital? It stands 555 feet tall, took 36 years to build, and opened in 1888. Did you also know on the eastern side of the capstone of the monument are written these two words in Latin, "Laus Deo!". The sun first hits this side of the monument and the words, "Praise be to God!" are are set ablaze as our Capital rises for the day. Our Founding Father's built on this continent a new nation. And built it on the foundation of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. However, you may have noticed our world is changing and quickly moving away from God. There are leaders in this country who are making decisions which go against the principles of God. The Bible states in Psalms 127: 1, "Unless the Lord builds the house its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain." We must seek God's wisdom and discernment. Have you ever had a time in your life when you did not know what to do next? It was like you were waiting on God to lead you where to go. There will be times when we are waiting on God. However, do not forget or become inpatient. God has His hand on you and He will anoint your steps. In fact, the Bible states in Proverbs 3: 5-6, " 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths".This week Pastor Dallas Billington continues his series, "Understanding God’s Grace and Favor". The Bible states in II Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him”.
