For Christians, God, is our Heavenly Father. Just like any parent, He wants only what is best for His children. And just like any parent, God does not always give us want we want; not because He does not love us, but because He knows it is not what is best for us. God will answer every single one of our prayers - either with a "Yes", "No", or "Just not yet". It could also be said that God does not answer our prayers in the manner in which we expect them, because we are finite beings who cannot see the whole picture. In the end, when God does answer our prayers, we will find His answer is better than we could have ever imagined.
