We all have guilt for things we have done, or things we have left undone. Sometimes that guilt is so overwhelming that it feels like we are drowning. This psalm of ascent points to how we can know real freedom from the guilt that overwhelms us.

All Things New (Psalm 98)
September 3, 2023 • Brad Jones • Psalm 98
In Psalm 98, we see a song of joy. Over and over in scripture, especially in the Hebrew songbook called the psalms, God’s people would rehearse the goodness of God by remembering what they had been through and what God brought them out of. But this Psalm has a forward pitch. It doesn’t spend much time reflecting backward, but it is calling us to see something ahead of us, where God has promised to make all things new. When we have a vision of what God will do, it gives us a confidence to live a life of joy in the here and now.
