Hunger and True Bread (John 6;27-35)

James Beard, the prestigious chef, whose namesake award is given to the very best in culinary excellence once said, “Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods; and good bread with fresh butter, the greatest of feasts.” In the gospel of John, Jesus says, “I am the bread of life and whoever comes to me will not be hungry.” (John 6:35) When Jesus uses this metaphor, he is saying, “I am the true bread that you have been hungering for in everything else in your life.”
