A professing believer not living according to their profession may seem insignificant, but if this persists in the church it can become destructive. Destructive in two specific ways according to 1 Corinthians 5:6-13. 1. Destructive to the purity of the church 2. Destructive to the mission of the church
This paragraph brings chapters 1–4 to a fitting conclusion and at the same time prepares us for what is coming next. As a Spiritual Father, Paul is willing to do 3 things for the wellbeing of this church. For everything that has been taught thus far to be seen through the lens of Paul as their spiritual father. 1.
