The Good Shepherd

John 10

June 25, 2017 • Michael Thiel

But, the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, has power.

Whenever I call God Yahweh, I think of many different attributes. But most of all, I think, this is a name that is only for his people. Jesus is not one lamp among many. He is the singular source of the light of the glory that illumines the world to come. He is the way, the truth, and the life. To believe in the true God is to believe also in Jesus (verse 1). He is in the Father and the Father is in him (verse 11). Jesus is the only way because he and God the Father are one.
