Church of The Way has partnered with multiple schools in the Downriver community to come alongside families that could use a blessing this Thanksgiving. As a church, we will provide an incredible Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the fixings to make this holiday special. This is a small, tangible act of love we can express during the holiday season. There are multiple ways that you and your family can participate. First, we are asking the church to donate all of the non-perishable food items that will go into the baskets. We want to ensure each family has a turkey and more than enough for an incredible Thanksgiving dinner. The second way you can get involved with your family is by helping us pack the baskets. On Sunday, November 19, immediately following the 11:00a service, we will flip the sanctuary into an assembly line and begin filling those 30 baskets with the food and turkeys for each family. This is a great way to get your kids involved and serve this Thanksgiving. Lastly, we need people to deliver the food baskets to the families. We will assign a specific family or two and have you take the filled food basket to their house. We will take care of all of the communication between CTW and the family; we would ask you to be the one to drop off the Thanksgiving Blessing Basket on Sunday, November 19, after it is packed. PLEASE RSVP to let us know if you would like to help pack baskets or deliver a basket. You can also do both, but it is very important that you register to let us know your intentions! We will need at least 30 people to deliver baskets, so sign up today! This Thanksgiving Blessing Basket is just a tiny tangible act of love that we pray will lead to ongoing conversations, relationships, and, eventually, these families living the way of Jesus if they are not already. Let's live the way of Jesus by helping them experience His love this Thanksgiving.
