In this message we learned once again that we are blessed. There are many ways to respond to the blessings that Lord has bestowed upon us but two wrong responses to God’s blessing are pride and shame. These two responses lead us towards selfishness, making our blessings all about our selves. However, we have been blessed to be a blessing, and because God has blessed us with more, we will intentionally give more. We were challenged in this message to not settle for being a spontaneous giver or even a strategic giver, but rather a sacrificial giver.
Love God, Not Money

In this message we learned that we truly are blessed. Even some of the poorest people in America are some of the richest people on the planet. Understanding that we are blessed, we asked the question, “will you love and trust money, or will you love and trust God?” While this question might seem simple on the surface, the answer to this question is revealed by how we use and spend our money. We were challenged to honor God through percentage giving, tithe (10%), when we do give in this way there are three blessings that come into our lives: 1. Consistent percentage giving provides for God’s work through His Church, 2. Consistent percentage giving teaches me to put God first, 3. Consistent percentage giving increases my faith in God.
The Blessed Life

As we kicked off a new series we looked at how we can have a blessed life. We discovered that you don’t achieve the blessed life from accumulating more and more, but rather the blessed life comes through giving. Acts 20:35 “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” The blessed life ultimately begins with a heart of generosity.
